Ponds & Fish

Old Turtle Pond

I had the original turtle pond from the winter of 2003 until August 2005 when I install the 1200 gallon pond. I was getting too many turtles and the 300 gallon pond was not big enough anymore. The turtles sure appreciated their new home! It is true that when you put a pond in you always wish you had made it bigger! At the time I put water hyacinth in the pond but then found out it is illegal in the state of Florida. I ended up taking them all out mainly because they reproduced so fast and became a nuisance as seen in the photo below. They filled up the entire pond! The lily flower was gorgeous! Too bad the turtles kept eating the lilies! Enjoy the pictures!

.

I hope that you enjoyed the pictures of the old turtle pond.
